The most powerful soil on the planet is your mind.
Sometimes we get trapped in our mind with thoughts like 'I've got to figure this out' and 'this has to make sense'. We play 'what if' and think up different scenarios or play stories in our mind. How do we clear our mind of weeds we plant?
Being in the mind takes up a tremendous amount of energy. That's why if you constantly feel yourself consumed by thoughts it's likely you feel drained, tired or lethargic. You could even be feeling emotionally unstable.
A regular practice of meditation (everyday) supports us to have more energy. People are hesitant to commit to a practice of meditation because they feel like they are unable to do it properly... how do you clear the mind of thought?
Well unless you are a yogi master in the Himalayan mountains then meditation is not about the absence of thought. It is the non-attachment of our thoughts. The ability to practice and recognise Who am I without these beliefs?
To realise that our thoughts are like clouds instead of attaching ourselves to them we practice letting them float on by.
There are many ways to meditate although the common misbelief is we have to sit in silence and clear our mind completely.
Meditation can be breath work, a silent walk in nature, guided meditation, chanting - there are so many ways to meditate. To find out what would suit your needs best I encourage you to begin to play with different forms of meditation.
